Haunted Lighthouse To Be Performed As Fundraiser

August 26th, 2007 | by Sue |

The Grand Traverse (Michigan) Lighthouse Museum will sponsor an original comedy written by Sue Hanson and Ann Bloomquist of Northport.“The Haunted Lighthouse” will be performed Oct. 13 and 14 at the Northport Community Arts Center (NCAC), just before Halloween.

The play is based on the rumors that there actually are ghosts at the lighthouse, as experienced by several different workers and visitors there. It is a lighthearted look at what may be the reason for the haunting. There are 11 new songs to tell the story of The Keewenau Trader and her captain and crew.

Local actress Julia Brabenec will direct the play, which will raise funds for the lighthouse museum.

Tickets are available by calling the lighthouse at 231-386-7195 or the NCAC at 231-386-5001. Prices are $15 for adults and $5 for students.

Besides the play this year, the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum also does a haunted lighthouse for kids. Thsi year, on October 20 and 21, ghosts, goblins and ghouls will be at the lighthouse from 12 noon to 4 pm. They have a few photos from 2006 on their site.

Anyone else have or been to a haunted lighthouse for Halloween?  It would be great if more could open up for the  kids (and adults).
