Ghosts of the Granite State and More
October 29th, 2007 | by Sue |
Foster’s Daily Democrat has a story about ghost tales in the Granite state (New Hampshire). Several sites are mentioned, but of course the ones Spectral Keepers of the Lights is interested in are the tales about Wood Island and Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses. From the story:
According to Ron Kolek, of the New England Ghost Project, based in Dracut, Mass., the Wood Island and Portsmouth Harbor lighthouses are haunted.
When he and other investigators spent the night at Wood Island Lighthouse, one investigator saw what appeared to be a woman materialize in the basement. Pictures taken revealed anomalies Kolek called evidence of paranormal activity.
At the Portsmouth Lighthouse, they made contact with a former lighthouse keeper and a female spirit that was possibly the keeper’s wife or lover, Kolek said.
They also made contact with a much more recently deceased spirit, that of the wife of the last lighthouse keeper, who died just months ago, he said.
According to Kolek, the recently deceased woman’s spirit was channeled and revealed to members details of the lighthouse trust that only they would know.
And in other haunted stories of lighthouses, Haunted Lights (parent of this blog) and myself (Sue Clark) were featured in the Maine Sunday Telegram today in a story on Maine’s haunted lighthouses. Check out the story online:
