About
Created as a companion to the Haunted Lighthouse site, this blog is for posting news about known haunted lighthouses, and for commenting on the stories and tales.
I became interested in lighthouses when I was a little girl, and my grandfather was stranded in the middle of Saginaw Bay (Lake Huron), and spent the night in the long abandoned lighthouse on Charity Island (pictured above). Huron County is home to three active lighthouses (Charity Island is in Arenac) and encouraged my interest in lighthouses. After I moved to Maine, I became involved with lighthouse preservation, and joined the newly started chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation, the Friends of Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. Besides acting as a docent, I served on their executive board as secretary for two years, and developed their brochure, advertising card, and created and published their newsletter. I am also a charter member of the Maine Lighthouse Museum in Rockland. If you would like to learn more about lighthouses and hauntings, I strongly encourage you to purchase some of the books that are available at the Lighthouse Depot or from Amazon.
